Good afternoon all.

Now, this may seem like a slightly simple question, but thought I would ask on here where it seems many might have done what i'm looking to do.

I'm thinking of starting up a small bookkeeping business to do in my spare time. While I worked for a bookkeeping/accounts firm for a few years, I very rarely got involved in the tax side of things, and when I did it was at the limited company level, not personal tax.

So, a couple of questions I have on this. I believe I will need to fill out a self assessment form, will this have complications considering I will still be in full time employment with my current job? And how will I go about doing this?

And secondly. I do not intend to go any further than bookkeeping, I will not be preparing statutory accounts, or dealing with tax matters. With this in mind, do I need to worry about getting insurance, or any other matters I need to consider apart from declaring my income/exp correctly?
