Chat rooms are beginning to step into the void. People are already comfortable with video chatting technology. Skype alone recently had as many as 34 million daily users. Google has been offering video chat as part of their Gmail service and now as part of Google+ as a way for friends to "hang out."

The Internet has made the world a much smaller place. Before, people looked for love in their neighborhoods, social circles, or through friends and family.
